We will be giving you the opportunity to offer the DNS Service for Free with every Domain that you sell from the 5th of April, 2009.
As you can imagine, introducing a Free Service involves a certain amount of change to the various interfaces that are used for your Reseller business. We have tried to ensure that the SuperSite, PartnerSite and the Control Panel exploit this new service to increase your sales exponentially. The following details are what you need to know to be able to successfully implement these changes.

API Changes: The changes and other important information on the ResellersDellos API are described below:
- Activating Free DNS on a Domain:
Moving forward there will not be any OrderID associated with the DNS Service. You will need to take the OrderID of the Product associated with the DNS service and pass it as a parameter while making the API call. For example: If the DNS service is associated with a Domain Name Registration order, you will have to pass the OrderID of that Domain Name as the parameter while calling the “setupDNSService” method to activate the DNS service.
- Managing Records through the API:
Once the Free DNS Service is live, we will continue to use these parameters with the following changes -
1) As mentioned before, the OrderID of the Product associated will be used as the parameter for the API call.
2) Based on the OrderID, the productCategory will be determined. If the DNS service is already activated the viewdns parameter will be ‘true’, if the DNS service is not activated the viewdns parameter will be ‘false’.
3) Based on the OrderID and the viewdns parameters the following interfaces will be accessed:

SuperSite Changes:
We will be making changes to the SuperSite to ensure that your Customers are made fully aware of the Free Service and to ensure that it is pitched appropriately.

As the DNS Service will no longer be a purchasible Product, to access it within Orderbox, your Customers will need to navigate to the product details interface and click on a ‘Free DNS Service’ button that will be displayed. From the interface that opens they, activate the DNS service and then manage it.
Changes to System Emails sent to Customers:
Emails that go out to Customers from the system upon a successful Domain Name Registration, will be updated to include a link to activate the FREE DNS Service. This will help customers activate the DNS Service reduce the steps that they will need to take.
The Free DNS Service is the first of a whole suite of Free Services that we will be offering Free of cost with Domains. Please do pass the above information to your Customers and Sub Resellers to ensure that they are well aware of the changes to come. We will be sending across more updates on this Product launch very shortly and hope to keep you in the loop through the entire process.
