Coming soon - More updates regarding the attack and the shift to Secure FTP
Several websites on our Linux Hosting Servers have flagged virus alerts. FTP logs from the infected packages indicate that the machines of the customers who own those domains are compromised and have been used to upload malicious content to their respective hosting packages.
This form of attack is commonly known as a Gumblar attack. As a precautionary measure, the FTP service for Linux Hosting packages has been temporarily disabled. As such, users will not be able to upload or manage files using FTP for now. We shall update once the services are enabled again.
Our apologies for the inconvenience. Meanwhile, you can find further details about this attack and the measures we are taking, on the Dellos blog - http://blog.dellos.com/2009/06/safeguarding-your-website-from-gumblar.html
